This is a near reproduction of an original design by the Greene Brothers (Charles and Henry). Originally there were two beds made for the Gamble House’s Master bedroom (Pasadena 1908). If you would like to see those beds in their original setting – the Gamble House is open for tours. ( A visit to the Gamble House should be on everyone’s bucket list – it is awe inspiring!)
The Greene’s design was for a single size mattress. I upscaled this version to Queen size.
Beyond the revision is size I also took small liberties here and there with the design. While it is generally faithful in character to the original pieces, it is not an exact reproduction.
